Executive Vice President – Head of Investment Banking
Mr. Rich is the Head of Investment Banking and an Executive Vice President at National Securities since 2009. Mr. Rich worked for First Colonial Securities Group, a 13 office, 150 employee regional firm based out of Boca Raton, first as a Senior Vice President and then as Managing Director in its Corporate Finance Department. First Colonial was acquired by vFinance in January of 2001 (vFinance completed its merger with National in July 2008). During 1999 and 2000, Mr. Rich's group was recognized by SNL Securities as one of the top 10 Specialty Finance Advisors in the nation, based on the number of transactions completed. Mr. Rich graduated from Tulane University with an interdisciplinary major in Economics, Political Science, History and Philosophy. He continued his education by receiving a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from Fordham University where his concentration was in Corporate Finance.
Senior Managing Director/Head of M&A and Advisory Service Practice
Sagiv is a Senior Managing Director and the head of the M&A and Advisory Service Practice at National Securities. Prior to National, Sagiv led the global M&A and Advisory Practice at INTL FCStone Financial Inc. Prior to joining INTL, Sagiv was the head of the Global M&A and Advisory Services practice at National Securities and Merriman Capital. Before Merriman, Sagiv was head of Technology, Media and Telecom banking at Punk, Ziegel & Co. where Sagiv launched the firm’s nanotechnology practice and made it an industry leader. Sagiv has advised governments, agencies, private and public companies and financial institutions.
Prior to entering investment banking, Sagiv served as Chief Financial Officer of three multi-national diversified holding companies. At his last corporate position, Sagiv served as CFO of The Plastiflex Group, an international manufacturing company, with 6,000 employees in 10 locations in eight countries. Sagiv has also served on the boards of several publicly-traded companies, as well as on the boards of private entities and charities.
Sagiv has served as a peer reviewer on international finance for the Journal of Financial Management and Global Finance Journal. Sagiv has been published and interviewed in Euromoney, Institutional Investor, The Economist, The Deal, Corporate Finance and other publications and has advised on several published academic papers. Sagiv has been an invited speaker at the Nanotech Sciences and Technology Institute’s annual conference, the Columbia University Alumni Association VC Form, the Deutsche Borse’s annual capital markets conference, the Association of University Technology Managers annual conference, the Watec Clean Water and Tech forum and at other forums and events. Sagiv is an associate editor of the Nanotechnology Law & Business Journal, a member of the American Finance Association and the Financial Management Association. Sagiv is the recipient of the M&A Deal of the Year Award (cross-border, under $500 mil) for 2014.
Sagiv is a visiting professor of financial engineering at the IESE Graduate School of Business. Sagiv holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Finance and Commercial Economics from Pacific Western University.
Quintus von Bonin
Senior Managing Director
Mr. von Bonin is a Senior Managing Director of National Securities’ Investment Banking Group, responsible for the metals, mining, and natural resource industries. With 30 years of industry experience, he has raised more than $7 billion in equity and debt capital for his clients and has advised on a broad range of mergers and acquisitions and restructuring assignments worldwide. Prior to joining National Securities, Mr. von Bonin was Managing Director and Head of Metals & Mining for INTL FCStone Financial Inc., the securities business of INTL FCStone Inc., which is also active in the physical trading and brokerage of futures and derivatives of metals. Until 2011, he was Managing Partner of BF Capital Partners, advising primarily privately-held middle-market corporate clients active in the commodities industries. From 1987 to 1998, Mr. von Bonin was with Citigroup and Salomon Brothers where he co-led the firm's global steel industry practice, advising corporate clients along the entire ferrous industry value chain. Mr. von Bonin graduated Mag.rer.soc.oec in Business Administration and Dr.rer.soc.oec. in Economics from the University of Innsbruck in Austria.
Hany S. Awadalla
Managing Director – Investment Banking
Mr. Awadalla is a Managing Director in National’s Investment Banking Group. He focuses primarily on the healthcare space and has been advising a broad range of life sciences and healthcare service companies on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions for over 25 years. He began his career at Merrill Lynch in both New York and London, and served as the US Head of Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions at UBS, Global Head of Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions at Robertson Stephens and Wells Fargo and the Head of the Healthcare Group at Unterberg, Towbin, serving on both the Corporate Finance Commitment Committees and Fairness Opinion Committees at each firm. He received his BA in East Asian Studies and Economics from Columbia University and his MBA in Finance and MA in International Studies from the Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania, respectively. He was also a Lauder Fellow at the Wharton School.
Mr. Ivan Saval is a Managing Director of National Securities’ Investment Banking Group, responsible for providing capital markets and financial advisory services to the agribusiness and food related industries. He was formerly a Managing Director with the Investment Banking Division of INTL FCStone Financial, Inc. where he covered the agribusiness sectors for domestic and cross border opportunities. Previously to INTL FCStone, he was a generalist involved in leveraged finance roles with UBS, BNP Paribas, CIBC World Markets and JP Morgan. Mr. Saval holds a B.A. in International Business, Economics and Spanish from Ball State University, and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business.
Director – Investment Banking
Mr. Troccoli is a Director of Investment Banking at National Securities and has been with the team since October 2004. Mr. Troccoli works with private and public companies in the EdTech and CleanTech space. Previously, Mr. Troccoli worked in the firm's research department as a sell-side and buy-side analyst working with investment bankers and our Director of Research on evaluating potential investment opportunities. Prior to joining National in 2000, Mr. Troccoli held a position with Salomon Smith Barney's Individual Retirement and Financial Planning desk. As a specialist on the desk, he worked with financial advisors on accounting and legal implications of different retirement and estate planning products available to individuals. Mr. Troccoli graduated from the University of Miami with a B.B.A. in Finance. Mr. Troccoli holds a Board Observer seat with Beamreach Solar, Inc. a California-based manufacturer of innovative high-efficiency solar panels for residential and commercial use.
Senior Vice President – Advisory Group
Mr. Calicchia, a Chartered Financial Analyst, is a Senior Vice President of Investment Banking at National Securities. Prior to becoming a senior vice president of the advisory group, he was a principal for the Firm's Structured Equity finance group. Before joining National Securities, he was a general partner of Arzei Capital Group, a hedge fund focused on investing in the securities of micro-cap, small-cap, and middle market emerging growth companies. From May 1999 to December 2000, Mr. Calicchia was the Vice President of Corporate Finance at Robb Peck McCooey Institutional Services, a division of Robb Peck McCooey Clearing Corporation, where he specialized in analyzing and financing emerging growth companies. From September 1997 to May 1999, Mr. Calicchia was employed in a similar capacity at Trautman Wasserman & Co. Prior to that period, Mr. Calicchia was a research analyst at a number of boutique investment banking firms where he acted as a Special Situations/Generalist analyst, covering a broad range of companies. Mr. Calicchia is a Fordham University graduate where he majored in Finance and continued his education receiving an MBA in Finance from Pace University, specializing in Portfolio and Investment Management.
Andrei C. Amaritei
Senior Vice President – Investment Banking
Mr. Amaritei is a Vice President of Investment Banking at National Securities. Prior to joining National, Mr. Amaritei worked in the Investment Banking Division of BMO Capital Markets assisting primarily small-cap and middle market healthcare and business services companies on capital raising and financial advisory mandates. Previously, Mr. Amaritei worked in various banking roles with ABN AMRO Bank and Societe Generale in Europe. Mr. Amaritei holds B.S. degrees in Engineering/Computer Sciences and Economics, as well as an MBA with concentration in Finance from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Amaritei is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
